Canon cameras upload photos directly to Google Photos

Modern Canon camera owners can now automatically upload photos and videos to Google Photos by connecting them wirelessly via your phone.

Google is working to facilitate the transfer of images from the camera to the popular photo management platform.

Despite all the advances in camera technology, backing up photos from a DSLR still poses a problem.

Usually, the process involves camera cables or adapters to get pictures from the SD card, but Google and Canon want to change that.

This automatic backup feature works with both iOS and Android through « image.canon » app, but you need to make sure the camera is compatible.

And if the camera is compatible, just make sure to install the latest update for the (image.canon) application and you will see the new option to transfer images to (Google Photos).

After activating the new feature in the Canon app, future photos and videos will be automatically sent to Google's photo storage platform.

You don't have to worry about losing the resolution of any image; Because all photos are synced to (Google Photos) in their original quality.

And in February, Canon launched its own version of its cloud backup service, image.canon, which allows Canon cameras to seamlessly back up photos over the wireless network.

Users have the option to automatically transfer their photos and videos from (image.canon) to other places, such as: (Google Drive) or YouTube for uploaded videos, and now (Google Photos) has been added to that list.

But there is one problem that may bother some people, as this method of transferring photos requires a (Google One) membership.

Google is offering Canon camera customers a one-month trial version of (Google One) with a storage capacity of 100 GB to help facilitate their access to the service.

Once the trial ends, Google One plans start at $ 2 per month for 100GB of storage.

Earlier this month, Canon temporarily suspended the image.canon service after some stored images and videos disappeared.

Adobe also ran into an annoying problem earlier this month when it revealed that some of the photos synced to (Lightroom) in the cloud had been permanently lost.

While (Google Photos) service has not encountered any such problem so far.
