How to change your name and add photo to Zoom

If you've been using Zoom to work from home for the past few months, it is likely that the name you are recognized in the lower left corner is not your preference, and it may be your email instead of your name, or it is all in lower case, or include your middle name And, whatever the state you are in, it's easy to change your name in Zoom and add a picture to your profile, if you want.

If you use Zoom desktop software, here's how to do it:

  • While you are in a conference within the program, click on the button labeled (Participants) at the bottom of the program screen, and a list of participants will open on the right.
  • Hover over your name and click on the (More) option.
  • Click on the (Rename) option and put your preferred name in the pop-up windows.
  • Click on the (Rename) option now and you are done.
  • You can use the same (More) option to add the profile picture, which will appear if you disable the camera, and if there is no profile picture, only your name will appear, and all you have to do is click on (Add Profile Picture) and choose a picture from the file browser.

The process is easier on smartphones, as the following instructions work for both Android and iOS systems: Only the pop-up site is a little different:

  • Open the Zoom app on your smartphone and click on the (Settings) button in the bottom right corner.
  • To change your name, select (Display Name) and change your name in the pop-up box.
  • To change your photo, select (Profile picture), take a new photo or choose one from your gallery.

It is worth noting that Zoom announced that it was entering the hardware market, by launching a device with a touch screen designed to help individuals work remotely. The company said: The device - called (Zoom For Home - DTEN ME) - will be sold at $ 599, and it will start shipping as of next August.

(DTEN ME) offers a 27-inch touch screen with three smart cameras, and eight built-in microphones supporting the noise reduction feature, and it comes with a pre-installed (Zoom) program. It is noteworthy that the company did not manufacture the device itself, as it was made by DTEN, an American start-up specializing in the manufacture of video conferencing devices.
