5 iOS 14 security and privacy features you need to know

Everyone can have iOS 14 and if you are brave enough to install it, you will get some new security and privacy features, some of which will be visible and others hidden in the operating system.

5 iOS 14 security and privacy features:

Access to camera and microphones:

Every time the app accesses the camera or microphone, a green dot appears - above the signal strength meter - when accessing the camera, similar to the green (LED) indicator that lights up on Macs when the camera is on and an orange dot when accessing the microphone.

And if you access the Control Center, there is a notification at the top that shows you recent apps that have gained access to the camera or microphone. This feature is automatic and there is no need for user intervention and there is no way to turn it off.

Copy and paste:

When you copy and paste data in iOS 14, a notification appears on the screen in the form of a pop-up window, and this is a simple but effective way to know that applications intrude your clipboard, and this feature is automatic, and there is no need for user intervention and there is no way to stop it.

Applications and website:

IOS 14 now gives you the option to allow apps to access your public location, but not your exact location, and it's a good idea to have the option to use location data without specifying a specific location.

To access this setting, you must go to (Settings)> (Privacy)> (Location Services), then check the settings for the applications that can access your location.

Local network and applications:

Another thing you'll see after installing iOS 14 is apps that request access to the local network, as some apps need this access - the access can be used to control bluetooth or Wi-Fi tools - but the reason why all apps need this access is somewhat blurry.

If you change your mind about granting access and want to stop it, you can go to (Settings), then (Privacy), then (Local Network) and choose what suits you.

Track the Wi-Fi network:

IOS 14 can provide a random, private (MAC) address when joining or reconnecting to a Wi-Fi network, as this can help prevent you from being tracked when using network connections.

This feature is turned on by default, and you can find it by going to (Settings), then (Wi-Fi), and then clicking (i) in the circle next to Network.
