Huawei launched the second version of its HarmonyOS operating system,
and provided us with new details about it, including its access to smartphones.
And Huawei provided a package and application development tools for
the operating system, so developers can create applications compatible with the
HarmonyOS system to work on smart watches and smart TVs, and before the end of
the year will provide a development package for smart phone applications.
Hence, the first smartphone powered by Huawei HarmonyOS may be
available in the market next year.
The Chinese company also launched its similar project for the Android
AOSP project, under the name OpenHarmony, to allow device manufacturers to
modify the raw version of HarmonyOS and launch their own interfaces and
additions from it.
Currently, since the system supports devices with low RAM
consumption, it does not support more than 128 MB, but in April this year this
support will increase to 4 GB, which will allow it to be available on mid-spec
smart phones, and in October 2021 there will be no maximum that will allow it
to be available on phones It has more than 4 GB of memory.
Huawei had announced the HarmonyOS operating system after the
severity of US sanctions and threats to ban the company from dealing with
American companies, which put its smartphones in an awkward position as they
all depend on Google services that run the Android system.
With the launch of HarmonyOS and possibly its future success, Huawei
will not be affected by the US ban as it will have relied on its own
alternatives from applications, services and even an operating system.
